A newcomer to the world of investments in the notion of “Virtual Real Estate Investing“. What is meant by “Virtual Real Estate Investing” ranges from online games like SecondLife (where real profit can be made) to the use of internet technologies to make normal real estate investors more profitable.

To separate fact from fiction, I asked Bryan Ellis for comments. He’s the man many consider to be the father of this new form of investing.

When I began using the term virtual real estate investing in the late 1990s, I did so because I saw clear parallels between the strategies used for profiting from physical real estate and those that would create income in the online world, said Ellis.

Bryan Ellis cites the similar strategies one can employe to make money from “virtual property” and “physical property” as a primary parallel of the two markets. “There’s a huge difference between a website and a piece of real estate, but the ways you can profit from them are similar: ‘flipping’, rental/leasing, advertising sales, etc…all of these apply to both markets” he states.

I must admit: Its easy to see the parallels. After all, if you own a valuable piece of real estate, it’s “valuable” because other people are interested in that specific piece of property. Similarly, ownership of a desirable domain name is valuable for the same reasons. So it doesn’t matter if you own physical real estate or virtual real estate - you’ll likely use similar strategies to turn them into money in your pocket.

In our next installment of this series on virtual real estate investing, Bryan Ellis will share the internet analogies to the physical concept of real estate development.

In previous articles, the importance of providing a variety of banner sizes and making banner content sharp and relevant were discussed. Here we will look at the secret weapon you should not ignore…

Many merchants seem blissfully unaware of the potential of ‘alt tags’, as the little pale yellow rectangles with text in them, or ‘tool tips’ that come up when your mouse passes over a graphic are called.

When a graphic fails to load, or the site visitor browses with the capacity to view images turned off, for speed or because a particular firewall is in use that refuses to show images, the ‘alt’ text appears in the space that should have been occupied by each image, assuming that someone has input some text…

The same ‘alt’ text, as it appears when the cursor pauses over a graphic, is also commonly used by web surfers as an aid to deciding whether a ‘thumbnail’ image is worth clicking on to see the enlargement.

Supplying banners without any ‘alt tags’ at all is a bad idea because it encourages affiliates to choose between leaving them that way and being penalized by some search engines as a result, or typing in whatever text seems expedient.

Equally, it is a sloppy and unprofessional practice to supply banner links to affiliates that include alternative text content such as: “120×60-springcol-03″ or “Banner56098347″.

Either the affiliate will leave it as it is and visitors who are about to click on the banner may be put off doing so by the appearance of what may be interpreted as sinister code, or the affiliate will replace the text with whatever he or she thinks is appropriate. If you are lucky and the affiliate has the time, can spell and write reasonably pertinent copy, all is well. If not…the fault lies more with the originator of the unmarked or badly marked banner than the end-user.

When you think about it, the existence of the ‘alt tag; is a huge opportunity to add a sales message that would never fit on the graphic itself. You can capitalize on this inbuilt resource, as some of your competitors are already doing, or risk having the message of the banner itself diluted by the contents, or lack thereof, of your alt text captions.

Seasonal graphics are another important weapon and we are not just talking about the most obvious events either but, whilst we are mentioning them, there is no harm in having a seasonal banner that remains the same for years - provided there is nothing to identify the banner as specific to one year.

Instead of trying to think up a new Valentine’s Day or Christmas banner every twelve months and creating something that is not particularly attractive, pick a design that works and stick with it, by all means. It is not every merchant who can afford to spend a fortune on such things and it isn’t strictly necessary either. At LWA Malls - http://www.linnetwoods.com/malls/ - for example, it is noticeable that a great many people like the traditional and comforting seasonal images best.

People’s lives contain other seasons, apart from the universally-timed ones. Consider banners that catch the attention of people who have just been promoted or started their retirement or celebrated their tenth year in business or any one of a large number of milestones shared by a large number of people. Identify ’seasons’ that bring people to your store and make banners that will help affiliates guide visitors enjoying those same seasons to your online presence.

In conclusion: Make the effort to provide good-looking banners in a wide range of sizes to your affiliate partners; keep your website address off banners and the contents of text links and don’t forget to make the most of the advertising oppportunity provided by those ‘alt’ tags.

Online since 1998 as a webmaster, working mainly with small businesses and freelance tradesmen, Linnet Woods is editor of MarineZine, a free online nautical magazine, is active on several internet-related forums and has more than a dozen sites at http://www.linnetwoods.com.

It is sad many people look at previous mlm experiences differently than other experiences in their life.

One out of every three people I speak with about network marketing shares a negative experience with me. They don’t believe their dream of a residual income and time freedom will ever be realized because of one mlm business that didn’t work for them.

I ask 2 questions.

1. Have you experienced a bad meal?

2. Have you experienced a bad relationship?

The answer to both questions is always yes. Then I ask 2 additional questions.

1. Did you quit eating?

2. Did you quit looking for someone to share your life with?

The answer to both questions is always no.

Why is the reaction to a bad network marketing experience different than the reaction to a bad meal or relationship? One reacts to a bad meal by not patronizing a particular restaurant. One reacts to a bad relationship by moving on.

I certainly understand how people who had a negative experience in network marketing feel.

Utilizing “Feel, Felt, Found” I share my experience with them.

This article is based on my story.

Almost a year ago my heart was ripped from my chest and it sat in a corner for awhile. I felt as if my dreams were destroyed.

After 13 years in management being overworked, underpaid and unappreciated, I drew a line in the sand and took control. My husband and I started a home-based business with a network marketing company. In 3 years, we built a large organization. We were enjoying a substantial income and time freedom when the company came to a screeching halt. After eight months of litigation the company went under. I have seen the good, the bad and the ugly.

This experience was one of the darkest moments in my life.

It would have been easy to develop a negative attitude and give up on my dreams. However, through all the ups and downs in life I discovered how you feel about your circumstances depends on what you focus on. When you change your thoughts you will change your life.

Instead of complaining and blaming, I decided to look at our situation with an attitude of gratitude and appreciation. I focused on the positive. Positive? Yes! Our income was gone. However, no one could take away the knowledge I acquired - wisdom, skills and personal growth I never would have obtained in traditional business. I learned so much about success and belief.

Dr. William Menninger (1899-1966), a well-known leading American psychiatrist and co-founder of the internationally famous Menninger Clinic psychiatric center, said there are six essential qualities that are the key to success: sincerity, personal integrity, humility, courtesy, wisdom, charity. We associated with a lot of successful people, and I found this to be true.

Your success depends upon your frame of mind, and you are in control of 100% of your own mindset. You must be persistent and maintain a positive attitude.

“No pessimist ever discovered the secrets of the stars, or sailed to an unchartered land, or opened a new heaven to the human spirit.” -Helen Keller.

Successful people never quit. You will never hear a successful person say, “I can’t do this,” “I quit,” “I’ll try,” ” I hope,” or “Impossible.” Can’t, quit, try, hope, and impossible are not a part of their vocabulary.

Success is defined by you. Do you want to be able to attend all of your children’s games or recitals? Do you want time to volunteer for a charity or an organization? Do you want to be able to afford to send your children or yourself to college? Success is predicated upon you making decisions and taking action to lead toward success.

The secret to success is simply to not give up. Keep the faith. Believe and keep going! Believe in yourself and success will surely follow. I believe in you and we have never met. I believe in you, because you are investing your time reading this article.

The traditional means of earning money are becoming less abundant, and people are turning their pursuits toward an alternative way of earning an income. The market is virtually unlimited!

Network Marketing is a fun and rewarding experience. In addition, you can reap rewards beyond your wildest dreams. Through personal commitment and helping others to help themselves, you can build a solid business and enjoy a residual income.

If your heart is sitting in a corner, pick it up and move on. Whatever your definition of success, it can be yours.

Here’s another internet business marketing tip. People do business with people they, know, like, and trust. It’s a common fact that people are more likely to purchase from people or companies that they are familiar with. Think about how when people go on vacation in another country they still go to McDonald’s even when there are hundreds of other options they have never heard of and quite possibly serving better tasting food.

The reason that they choose McDonald’s is because they are comfortable with McDonald’s. McDonald’s is something they are familiar with. They know that if they go into McDonald’s they have a fairly good idea of what their going to get and they are okay with that. On the flip side they are not sure what they are going to get with the restaurant they never heard of even though the food might be that much better. For some they would rather not take the risk and just play it safe by heading on into Mickey D’s.

The same psychology can be transferred online to your business. How familiar are people with you online. Have you developed a reputation online and are your customers comfortable and familiar with you? Do they trust you?

There are many ways to start developing this familiarity with you customers. One of the most popular ways is to write articles and submit them to article databases. As people read more and more of your views and insights they will become more comfortable and open to making a purchase from you.

Another way to develop trust with your customers is to offer a newsletter. Offering a newsletter allows you to stay in contact with your customers and offers additional exposure. This strategy again will cause them to open up a little bit more each time they hear from you and hopefully result in more sales for your business.

These are just some ways that you can go about developing trust with your customers online. Start building it today, trying to help your customers as much as you can and it will ultimately come back to you and your business.

Hi! My name is Janice Byer and I am the owner of Docu-Type Administrative & Web Design Services (http://www.docutype.net). I am the winner of several prestigious awards (information is on our website) and have a slew of happy customers, as the testimonials on our site will attest to. My services are professional, creative and in demand.

Now, wasn’t that easy? In one small paragraph, I have shamelessly self-promoted my business and it’s success.

I’ll admit it, I am addicted to shameless self-promotion, and why not? Who better to promote myself and my business than me? And, the opportunity to talk about your business should be the root behind every marketing effort you undertake.

Networking utilizes shameless self-promotion almost constantly. After all, when you visit a networking event, why are you there? To promote your business of course! And, when you are at a designated networking event, it is not the time when you should hold back. Be shameless yet professional, and also be considerate of your fellow networkers. They are there for the same reason you are. So, give them the opportunity to shamelessly self-promote themselves.

Networking is the “right time” to shamelessly self-promote. But, there are times when it is not appropriate. There is a time and a place for everything, including promoting your business.

For instance, if you are a member of a news or discussion group, there are generally rules against promoting your business, unless that is what the list is for. So, don’t take advantage of the captive audience or break the rules. That can actually be bad for business.

However, some lists have designated days of the week or month when you can shamelessly tell the world about what you do and what you have to offer. This is the time to show them what you’ve got.

Opportunities arise at various times when it is good to promote yourself and your business. For instance, I was with my daughter at the library yesterday and the woman there asked if I was excited about my daughter going into grade one and the fact that she will be in school all day. This was the perfect opportunity to tell her that I run my own home-based business and what I do.

Also, a few weeks back we had our water supply guy here filling up our well and we talked about his father’s business. Well, I didn’t give up the chance to say, “Does your father have a website? I can design one for him.” Well, the conversation went from there and I ended up giving him several of my business cards.

My husband is also the owner of a small business; a tow truck and storage business. Well, the other day we had a fellow here delivering gravel for our driveway and, as he is always on the road, I asked him if he sees accidents and such. So, my husband gave him some of his cards and it has paid off already. Yesterday this dump truck drive called to tell my husband about an accident that he had just seen.

And, don’t forget your existing clients. Do they know everything that you offer? I have a wonderful steady administrative client that I told a few times about some of the websites I am designing. Well, he was impressed and now we are in talks to design his website. He didn’t know I did website design until I told him. And, this may be true for you as well. Your clients won’t know everything that you can do for them unless you tell them. They may not need any of your secondary services right away, or at all, but they may know someone who does.

My administrative client, which I mentioned above, has now given my name to some of his customers who need help with their office tasks and web design needs.

As I said before, there is a time and a place for shamelessly self-promoting yourself and your business. Be careful not to sound arrogant and don’t be pushy. But, as a small business owner, you are the best person to tell others about what you offer and you should take advantage of situations that will allow you to do so.

Advertising plays an important role in your business (every business, actually!). But, there is one BIG mistake advertisers frequently do and this mistake could cost you a bundle!

What is it?

The fact that you don’t analyze what type of advertising is working for you and which are not doing so well!

Analyzing the results of your advertising campaigns will help you determine where your money should go. If you skip this task, then you’d probably spending too much money on a lousy campaign! Of course you don’t want that to happen do you?

I know that this task is very time consuming and boring, that’s why most advertisers always neglect this one. The fact is, it becomes time consuming and boring if you don’t create a system for that. This system should inform you the performance of all of your advertising campaigns.

This is what makes online advertising so great. Many online advertising services give you ad campaign reports on a regular basis. They inform you which ads are working and which ones are not. Although not every type of online advertisings have this feature, one of them who does is Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising.

But what if you advertise in ezines (lots of ezines) and ad classifieds? What if you put several banners and text links here and there? How to monitor their performances?

Well, in case you didn’t know, there are some services in the internet which really could track your ads and make your job a lot easier. To learn more about this service, you can go to HyperTracker

Once you know exactly the performance of all of your ad campaigns, here are some steps that can save a lot of your advertising budget:

o Determine Your Target Market

Who would be interested in your products? What problems do your products solve? Believe me, reaching untargeted market would only hurt your advetising budget. Don’t go for quantity, but go for quality! Many people love blasting ads to a huge community and ended up with no sales at all? Why? Because they are simply reaching the WRONG people.

o Set Up a Realistic Budget

How much money could you put aside for advertising? Remember, don’t waste all of your advertising budget on a single campaign! You have to test what type of advertising that will work best for you.

o A Great Sales Copy

Make people want to click through your URL. Your target here is to make them click, not to sell! Let your site do the selling for you.

o Test Several Ads

Test several ads at the same time. Tweak your sales copy. You’ll be amazed at how a little difference you add to an ad could result in a HUGE difference in the response. This part is a lot easier if you use the good old HyperTracker

o Analyze and Re-invest

Analyze your ads performance. Stick to the ones that give you best results. Now that you know what works and what doesn’t, you could re-invest your advertising budget ONLY on the best type of advertising.

Your Marketing Breakthrough Method is ready for you to use. All you have to do is learn from the experience of one of the best marketers - online and offline.

Seth Godin has written a unique book called “Ideavirus”.

He is a critic of Interruption Marketing (the traditional method) and a Champion of Permission Marketing (asking for the customers permission before presenting them with products).

His idea was to make “Ideavirus” available as a free ebook which contained links where the reader could promote it to others.

To develop a vast market in the quickest possible time Seth decide to give away his new ebook. In a short time he gave away more than 1,000,000 copies.

He explained the secret to his breakthrough marketing method to critics who were quite sure he had gone mad. He believed, because of the quality of his ebook, that as well as downloading the free edition readers would purchase copies of the hard copy when it was released through Amazon.

They would do this as they were so impressed with the content they purchased the hard copy and gave it to friends as a gift.

Time has proved him right - big time. Sales of the hard copy have reached record levels.

You can benefit greatly from this creative approach to marketing whenever you have a new book with a great message.

Remember you can’t copy his text - that’s a breach of copyright and morally wrong, however you can copy his concept.

Even as an unknown author - develop a great book, give it away and, encourage others to give it to as many friends as possible.

You can make this your Marketing Breakthrough Method.

Enlightenment shines its spotlight in all the dark nooks and crannies of religious dogma gone wrong. As long as there have been humans and religious authorities to frighten the masses into obedience, there have been exorcisms. From trepanning in prehistoric times to the deliverance ministries and catholic rites of today, well meaning shamans and clerics have sought to exorcise the “demons” of mental illness and addiction to no avail. It’s time to stop the nonsense.

Bloodshot eyes stared at the crucifix six inches from his nose. Leather restraints lined with lamb’s wool fastened his arms and legs to the chair. The demon-possessed man lunged at the hand holding the holy symbol. Gnashing teeth struggled to bite the outstretched wrist.

Crimson scratches and cryptic markings appeared across his belly. Blood and sweat spattered the floor around the brute, while a puddle of urine under his chair slowly spread out until the priest could no longer avoid standing in it. The satanic beast chewed his tongue and the tender flesh inside his cheek. His tortured mouth spit blood and tissue and obscenities at those attending the exorcism.

What we have here is a Hollywood-embellished, grotesque superstition at work.

What happened to cause rational people to accept this archaic remnant of religious authority’s attempt to control the masses with fear? Frightened followers submit under scare tactics of hellfire and damnation. This is doubly effective because the authorities believe in what they are teaching people. They too fear the evil entities brought to life by their imagination.

Why are we so vulnerable to this indoctrination? Because all souls are encoded to seek God. We begin our life on earth with a “god-shaped hole” in our soul. God puts it there so we will want to find our way back to Him.

We spend our lives trying to fill the “empty spot.” We pack it with lovers, religion, money, drugs, work, excitement, gambling, etc. None of these fits, so we’re soon on the search again looking for love, for attachment, for distraction, and for fulfillment.

In the older religions from Abraham through Jesus Christ and Mohammed, the lower nature of humans was referred to as demons, devils, and Satan. These are allegorical names for turning away from God and goodness.

The pure teachings of the Messengers of God never suggested that demons, devils, Satanic powers, or fallen angels are anything other than allegory. The Church and Hollywood borrowed their concepts and descriptions of these entities and their work from Dante’s “Inferno” written over 700 years ago during the European Dark Ages.

Family traditions, religious teachings, television, movies, and books instill the belief in demons, devils, and possession. When someone in authority tells a person that they are possessed by a demon, most believe it. Traditions, television, movies, and books show people how a demon-possessed person is supposed to act. Psychogenic purpuras is the medical term for stress related bruising and bleeding from the skin and mucosa. It’s common in cases of great emotional stress. It’s “super hives.” Exorcisms are created for these man-made demons.

As cultures progress, they recognize the absurdity surrounding religious superstition and dogma. Today we understand that the Greek and Roman mythological gods were a phenomenon of that age, and our enlightenment invests less and less fear in imaginary devils and demons. Education shines its light in the dark corners of the mind. A culture’s fear of demons is in direct ratio to the education of its people.

Fear of an overwhelming power of evil is a learned fear. It is taught in order to control the behavior of people. Religious belief and spiritual authority without the influence of science is superstition. In the same way that Galileo was excommunicated from the church for saying that the earth was not the center of the universe, people are controlled by a belief in demons and demonic possession.

Some religions have become the stronghold of superstition. I have attended both a voodoo service and a holy roller church service. The physical actions appeared the same. The guttural gibberish sounded the same. They both had people rolling on the floor in a state of spiritual “ecstasy,” and they both teach demonic possession.

We live in a world of great scientific discovery, a world of brain science and neurotransmitters. Why to you think the chemical lithium can exorcise a demon? Why can PCP unleash a demon? If you look at demon possession clinically, you will find schizophrenia, psychoses, Tourettes Syndrome, alcoholism, drug addiction, etc.

Where a belief in demons is strongest, incidents of possession are strongest. This is commonsense, folks. People, who fear demons, find demons to fear. People, who worry about demon possession, find demons to possess them. People, who imagine demons are lurking and waiting for a chance to pounce upon them, get pounced upon.

People, who understand the psychological impact of superstition and fear, know that they are fully in charge of themselves, and they are never possessed by mythical demons. People, who know that old houses creak, squirrels make nests in the attic, and underground caverns cause infrasound vibrations are not haunted by demons. Why is that? I think you know the answer.

An evil spirit is nothing more than a bad attitude … a spirit of hate, a spirit of greed, a spirit of cruelty, etc. And you can choose to replace these with a spirit of joy, a spirit of love, a spirit of giving. These are conscious choices made by a human’s free will. We choose how we think, what we do, and what we say. “The devil made me do it” is a powerful alternative to accepting responsibility for our free will choices and behaviors.

So, how do you exorcise demons? By seeing them for what they are, unhealthy childhood experiences of mental, emotional, or physical abuse. Sick families raise sick children. Sick children raise more sick children. Loving, nurturing environments exorcise demons. Knowledge exorcises demons.

  1. Know that demons are imaginary creations of fears common to man’s lower nature.

  2. Understand that there are no demons with the power to possess you.

  3. In cases of mental illness, seek professional help.

  4. In cases of addiction, seek professional help.

Salehoo Embroidery Wholesale Apparel:
There are many dealers of wholesale appliance parts to be found online or offline. I guess the best thing about online dealers is that they are very easy to locate and you can shop around for the best price. They also tend to offer much cheaper prices compared to local retail dealers of appliance parts. Not only that, they also have excellent delivery and shipping options that ensure you have the parts you ordered on time.

The wholesaler I actually use only has a minimum order of one so I didn’t need to spend thousands of dollars buying stock up front. They need this so they do not have to charge you sales tax. See Salehoo Reviews.
