O2 to Venture into Fixed-Line Phone Services
O2, the largest mobile operator in
O2 was born out of BT about nine years ago. It was later purchased by Spanish company Telefonica. O2 is now planning to diversify, and is about to launch landline phone services from the coming month.
The most popular offerings are O2 mobile voice calls and O2 mobile broadband. It also offers home broadband services. Thus, fixed-line phone services are the next major venture for O2. Mobile and broadband users who are existing customers of O2 will be the first to receive this new service. The service will be offered as part of an attractive bundle package, where customers subscribing to all the three services will be offered attractive discounts.
According to O2, the new fixed-line service will satisfy those customers who have been greatly disappointed with their present fixed-line providers. O2 has also declared that it will price its service at par with the offerings of other fixed-line service providers in
