Naveen Jain was born, raised, and educated in India. He moved to the U.S. and later took a software engineering position with Microsoft. There, he served as an auxiliary to launch the MSN Network. In 1996, after leaving Microsoft, he founded InfoSpace, Inc., a company that manages access to personal information. Later he left InfoSpace and founded Intelius, Inc., a company that gives access to public records and state records for individuals and businesses all over the U.S.

A creator and inexhaustible business leader, Naveen Jain has earned various recognition and laurels for his straight to the point and fearless approaches to organizing data, networks, and information about people. On top of all these, Jain contributes to society through a number of philanthropic efforts especially to organizations in India that work for children’s welfare and education.

Naveen Jain has been described as inexhaustible, determined and a “fireball of energy” by people he worked with. His flexi-time runs twenty hours a day, leaving not enough time for rest and leisure. Jain often cites Microsoft Chairman William H. Gates III (a.k.a. Bill Gates) as a personal hero, though he pointed out that even his old boss is lagging behind. “I’m not backing off and learning golf,” Jain says.

Jain, CEO and member of the Board for Intelius, has developed a considerable network of informal Web site to usher people into learning more about potential business partners, employees, employers, etc. The services offered by his company have helped individuals and businesses ensure they know who they deal with. Due to Naveen Jain’s relentless drive and his philanthropic spirit that he has successfully instilled in Intelius’ workforce, Intelius has received numerous awards and acknowledgements over the years including: “Best New Company” (2006; the American Business Awards) and finalist for the “Most Innovative Company” award (2007; the American Business Awards). It has also been hailed as one of the top three best workplaces in Washington.
