Rejection hurts.

But there came a time in my dating career (shortly after being given the pink slip from a guy I was absolutely crazy about) when it dawned on me that everybody is rejected at one time or another. I read an interview with a massively attractive rock star who talked about getting the heave-ho from a girl he loved, and I thought, “Wow, if even he gets rejected, then perhaps I’m not so bad off after all.”

Chances are some guy will tell you, “I think it’s time we see other people.” And it will probably hurt.

How do you deal with it? Well, you can sit around with a gallon of Haagen Dazs, wondering where you went wrong, why you can’t hold a man, and why you’re fundamentally undesirable. Or you can tell yourself, “Maybe it just wasn’t meant to be.”

Which is the healthier choice? Hey, you are entitled to your feelings. Rejection stings, but this is the time to love yourself, not berate yourself for being a loser. Wallowing in misery and junk food will only make you, well, miserable. And miserable people are a turn-off.

When some guy informs you that you’re not the woman of his dreams, shake his hand and thank him for the memories. Think of it this way: He’s not for you. Maybe somebody upstairs is making sure he doesn’t move into your life for a reason.

But, if you absolutely must, sit around for a day (two at the very most) with the Haagen Dazs. Be miserable. Feel what you feel. Ask yourself what, if anything, you did to send him away.

Then stop.

Treat yourself like a treasure that has yet to be discovered. Carry yourself like a queen. Banish all thoughts of your former relationship. Smile easily at people wherever you go.

Move on. You’ll open yourself up to the lasting relationship you deserve, and to a man who brings you joy and laughter.

Black used to be the color of choice for plus size women, but no more. Voluptuous women don’t need to be afraid of bright colors and silky fabrics, as long as a few rules are followed.

* If you’re wearing a one-piece dress, go for a solid color and accessorize it with coordinating jewelry. If you want to add a second color, make it a jacket or a long blousy shirt. And mix textures. A wool dress and a tweedy jacket look terrific together. * When selecting fabrics, choose soft and flowing, rather than clingy. Don’t make the mistake of wearing baggy clothes, thinking they will make you look thinner. Look for great choices that accentuate the positive! * Stripes should usually be avoided, but if stripes are present, make sure they’re vertical. If you have a blouse that sports horizontal stripes, throw a coordinating wrap over your shoulders to add flair and minimize the stripes. * Blazers or cardigan sweaters look best unbuttoned. It creates a visually-appealing vertical line. And adding shoulder pads to knit tops and sweaters will make you look much more polished. * Focus on emphasizing your best features. If you’ve got terrific legs, show them off with linen shorts in a sherbet color, or choose a knee-length skirt that falls softly over your thighs. If you have a wonderful neck, choose some of the exciting new v-neck looks. Make sure that you choose accessories that draw attention to your face. Fun earrings and chunky necklaces will do the trick. * De-emphasize the parts of your body that are in “transition”. All-in-ones (great shapers) or control-top pantyhose help smooth out any look. If your upper arms are not what you’d like them to be, go ahead and pick a sleeveless blouse, but cover yourself with a gauzy wrap or colorful jacket. * If you are petite, smaller is better. Don’t choose clothing with large pockets or bold prints. Choose shoes with heels, the higher the better. Opt for a smaller bag in rich colors or designer earrings that nestle against your ear. When selecting any accessory, make sure it fits your size. * Go with the flow. Choose looks that accentuate your length. A chunky belt will draw attention to your midsection, so if your outfit is belted, add a warm jacket that will bring the eye down from the waist. Also look for skirts that are longer, rather than wider, for a wonderful slimming look.

Millions of women get up every day and reach for clothes that do nothing for their plus size, voluptuous bodies. To listen to your customer is important, and to hear your customer is critical. But, to see what actions they take is the lifeline to your business.

Recently, I was giving an introductory presentation of the Life Enrichment course to a group of Real Estate agents.

The objective was to sell the agents on participating in the Hypmovation Life Enrichment eight -session, six-week course. The course teaches people how to apply the science of self-programming the subconscious mind through self-hypnosis to improve all areas of life.

During the twenty-two minute sales presentation, I asked questions of the agents to find out what was important to them.

The questions were:

• Do you wish that you could have more control over your life?

• What if you could completely remove and eliminate the fear of cold calling on new prospects–would that be important to you?

• How would your life change if you could permanently remove financial stress?

During the questioning and probing period, I was getting all the right vocal, body language, and yes signs from the audience. However, I didn’t feel like I had fully connected with what would influence or inspire them to take action and enroll in the training.

While carefully watching my audience, the next question I asked got a resounding rise in energy from them. I knew now that I was on the right track.

The question I asked next was

“Would it be important for you to eliminate the physical pain and everyday stress that keeps you from enjoying life more?”

After finding out what motivated and stimulated them to sit up and take interest, I was left with only two other steps. The first step was to explain the benefits of the program and how it would solve their problems. The second step was to enroll them into the program.

The principle lesson:

Listening is important. Hearing is critical. Watching the actions of your customers is the lifeline to your success in business.

I had played poker well for the first half of the night. I made my reads, bluffed my way out of some tight spots, and took a few risks that paid off pretty well. I was in the final half of the group, two people outside the money, and had the third largest chip stack. I had gotten dealt a high pair of suited connectors, and wound up with an open-ended flush draw on the flop. I raised and the rest of the table folded, save for the second-highest chip holder, who re-raised a minimal amount. I knew that this was a loose poker player who was trying to buy me out, and his bet told me that he wasn’t holding anything, so I went all in.

He sat and pondered for a while, since losing to me would essentially cripple him, but he eventually called. I drew dead, and his King high card won the hand. When he talked about it as he gathered his chips, he said that he was initially going to fold, but then he remembered that I had a tendency to bluff.

There are many reasons to vary your poker play styles, but the one that rings true the most in my mind is so that you don’t become predictable. Don’t have tendencies.

We all know that you can’t earn your commission until you make the sale. Furthermore, you can’t make the sale without the order, and you can’t write the order until you have a product presentation scheduled. Finally, you can’t have a presentation until you make the infamous CALL to schedule the appointment.

As you see, it all traces back to the initial phone call. In order to fulfill your WHY and achieve all of your ultimate outcomes in life, you must be UNSTOPPABLE ON THE PHONE! Right now you need to ask yourself a very important question…. “Am I the best I possibly could be on the phone?” Your answer will determine your results! On my training program, “Ten Secrets to the Ultimate Phone Call”, I speak about methods that you can implement to make you the best you can be. You must develop a friendship with your phone. I know it sounds crazy, but is true. When your phone becomes your best friend, you look forward to picking up the phone! Then, and only then, your future will change for the better.

One of the major keys is to practice your phone call script consistently in order to make it smooth to the point of your sounding like a Hollywood actor. Yes, I do mean you need to have a script and become fluent with this script. Many people say, “But I do not want to use a script because when I read a script a potential client/customer says that they can tell I am reading.” Guess what…If this is the case, then you have not practiced enough!

The best way to explain the effectiveness of a perfect script is to think of your favorite actor/actress and all of their award-winning performances. These performances that you love are SCRIPTED! Re-read that and internalize what that means. The Award winners are all script performers. You must make the mental decision right now to become an Emmy Award winner at your script. I speak about this on my training program along with many other concepts/ideas for making calls, which could possibly explode your business.

In summary, you must completely look forward to picking up the phone and design your future through the results you experience by making the most effective phone call possible for your business - your future!
