If you want to give yourself an enormous advantage over any kind of attacker — whether they’re armed, trained or just plain psychopathic — then the best thing you can do for yourself is do your martial arts and self defense sparring in the dark.

Why?

Simply because, statistically speaking, the vast majority of violent crimes happen at night, under cover of darkness — when you can’t see a thing, or when visibility is extremely low.

And if you know how to fight when you can’t fully see everything (and everyone) around you…and your attacker is foolishly relying on his weapon or the element of surprise (as most violent criminals do)…then your chances of winning and dominating the fight go through the roof.

In fact, this this is such an important skill the military special ops…and even your local police force…are required to train in low-light (even pitch black) scenarios.

And you know what?

When you do the same thing — when you start to spar and practice your martial arts skills in the dark — as well as in other environments, like in the snow and ice, rain and fog, and even in the extreme heat — you’ll always be a step or two ahead of anyone who tries attacking you, no matter when or where it happens.

I can’t express what a wonderful gift it is to receive an inbound inquiry.

I just got a good one, today, while I was having another 12 hour day, and I couldn’t get back to it, until after hours, Central time.

Still, I made a point to call, to leave a voice mail saying thank you for thinking of me, here’s my email address if you like, my cell number, and by the way, I’ll call you if you don’t call me, and THANKS!

Inbound inquiries are precious, and it’s too easy to become spoiled by them, thinking they’ll last forever. For instance during the heyday of certain best-sellers I wrote, I’d get, on average two inquiries a day from readers interested in buying my tapes and seminars.

From a selling point of view, these were walk-ins, lay downs, fish in barrels, people who were so thrilled with what they read that they were pre-sold on my other products. And I thought these easy-peasy sales would go on, indefinitely. Of course, they trickled off, bolstered only when I wrote and had published even more books.

What I’m saying here is this: Never, ever underestimate the value of people who contact you; in essence, folks that beg to be sold.

Stop everything you’re doing, and celebrate them!

If you do outbound cold calling you know that it takes a huge number of no’s before you rack up any yeses.

With inbound leads, it’s the other way around. The great majority should be converted into sales.

If your closing percentages aren’t high, get some training.

Given how much it costs to just make that phone ring, through conventional advertising, you’re missing a huge bet if you don’t get super sharp converting these prospects into customers.

Selling deck cleaning and washing services takes a little practice. Additionally once you do a good job, often you can secure a second job, which pays even more to put a coating or treat the wood. Once you are done with this, well it is time for referrals, which you are sure to get merely by giving them a stack of five business cards for their friends.

Spring and fall are always a perfect time for home maintenance in fact they are the best seasons in the deck care profession. Let your potential clients know that you have a professional staff at your company and you are here to help. Your customers should know that if they have a new deck they need to seal it now before the elements can do more damage. You need to study up on all the various types of woods, composites and coatings in the deck industry, then use this information and tell your customer that;

“Our extensive knowledge of woods and sealers ensures your satisfaction. We use top quality sealers that do not contain wax. Most retail brand water sealers cost considerably less to make, are wax-like, and are only designed for short-term protection of your wood. Using the highest quality product is always the best choice.” And “If you deck has been around for a while transform it from a worn, gray finish, to a rich appearance that looks like new with our maintenance restoration process.”

If the wood surface is not properly cleaned before pressure washing, live mold spores can be forced deep into the wood causing decay from within the wood. Improper use of high pressure washers will crush and destroy the top layer of wood causing dangerous splintering, uneven wear, furring, and small wood slivers. Only qualified contractors should operate this equipment. That means this is your chance to tell them the best way to care for their deck and why you are the best one to do it. Tell your customer that your unique cleaning process safely removes dirt, mildew, and algae, leaving wood clean and ready for maximum coating penetration and performance. Let them know that you use a biodegradeable brightener and cleaner, specially formulated that will not kill their plants or discolor their lawn and by all means guarantee incredible restoration results, if you are certain the deck is savable.

The customer must know that it is essential to seal their deck so that it lasts for years…not just one season. Show them by doing a sample how you will clean, seal and maintain their deck so that it will remain protected for years to come, and be sure that they understand you price guarantees for the best value over your competition. In addition to decks, be sure to offer such services as cleaning the fences, gazebos, concrete, walkways, driveways and vinyl siding on their home.

Lastly do not forget to tell them of your two million in liability insurance and that your machines are quiet and your crews are professional and in uniform. Always give a personalized quote and never BS a potential client, if you do not know, tell them and then tell them you will find out. Then make sure to get back to them on time with the correct answer. Think on all this, to make your business the best.

Remember the sandwich with the image of the Virgin Mary on it that sold on ebay for thousands of dollars? That’s a perfect example that “no horse is too dead to beat!” Many probably wondered what did this person do to sell something of, apparently, no value whatsoever.

Three important factors, in fact, very important factors were into play here.

1- The Confidence Factor.
Ebay is a well-known, reputable and extremely popular shopping hub and it has the people’s confidence. When you inspire confidence to your customers, your customers will buy from you with closed eyes and when the confidence level is high, the adrenaline level is also high.

2- The Psychological Factor.
When the adrenaline level is high, people feel motivated to do things and sometimes people do things that seems strange to others, but in reality a specific item may have real meaning to the buyer for many different reasons only the buyer knows. Maybe it felt good to purchase something unique. Maybe the person wanted to feel “in control” by owning something everybody talks about. Henceforth, by buying this “thing”, the person feels in control.

3- The Real Value Factor.
On the other hand, maybe the product or item is a problem solving instrument or perhaps a marketing tool! Or, maybe the buyer is a religious fanatic; therefore, the item is of real value to the buyer.

For these and many other reasons any horse is worth persistence, persistence and more persistence and no giving up. This horse was not delivered unto this world in defeat. It has the spirit of a Lion and it will not walk, talk, or sleep with the sheep, and it will always take another beating, and another and yet another until they see its real value!

The prizes of life are indeed at the end of each journey not at the beginning.

If you hate cold calling, and even if you don’t, you should start capitalizing on the work you’ve already done.

So often we don’t utilize one of the most persuasive selling components in our marketing materials - the words of our own clients. Many creative people have wonderful testimonials from clients, but never use them for fear that they are “bragging” or that it is “too self promotional.”

Well of course it’s self promotional! That’s what good marketing is!

When you are finished a project for a client, why not capture that moment in the client’s own words to use for showing potential clients the value of your services? Testimonials are even more crucial for creative businesses because it is more difficult for the average person to set a value on most arts related items and services. Seeing others talk about the value of working with you will help them more readily understand the value of your work.

If your client doesn’t come running to you with a testimonial, then ask her for one. There is nothing wrong with that and most clients are honored you asked them.
The best testimonials are ones that show a measurable goal has been reached and uses language that your potential clients can identify with.

For example, here is a testimonial I received from a client who is an artist:

“I just recently got back from a job I did up in Cape Cod worth over $11,000 and it is because I used the techniques I learned from you to turn a consultation into my biggest job ever.”
-Amy Ketteran, Ketteran Studios

Here’s another example of a testimonial I received from a corporate client:

“My improved confidence/speaking skills has helped my career as well as Verizon Connected Solutions since we are now working on developing partnerships/joint ventures with some large manufacturers and I am involved with seminars to promote these potential partnerships. Since I began working with Kirstin I’ve had several speaking opportunities and I can tell you her methods work. In fact, because of my work with Kirstin, I gave testimony in court that caused VCS to win a nearly $1 million lawsuit with customer who refused to pay. I can’t thank Kirstin enough!”
-Ed Ruby, Director of Business Operations
Verizon Connected Solutions

If you have testimonials, but they are not measurable, then they aren’t as persuasive as they need to be in order to sell a future client. To get measurable testimonials, all you have to do is ask for them. If you receive a testimonial from a client that isn’t measurable and doesn’t show a specific example of how that client has improved since working with you, then thank the client for the kind comments and ask him to narrow down the success to one or two specific items that are improved due to your work together.

You can respond with something like:

“Thanks for your feedback. It’s wonderful to hear about your success. What specifically has improved during our work together? Were you able to measure the difference?”

The more measurable the testimonial, and the more the client speaks in his own words, the more persuasive it is to the potential client, and the easier it is to generate new business.

Review your client list and look back over recent projects.

Ask your best clients for measurable testimonials. It’s a whole lot easier than making a cold call!

Out of every diamond there is, the most sparkling diamonds are the round brilliants. This is the most popular diamond shape of those that are less than 3 carats.

It’s not that other diamonds for sale aren’t sparkling diamonds as well; if cut right many other diamond shapes are extremely brilliant. But if it were a life and death situation, round brilliant would be the right choice. The shape, cut, and proportion of the round brilliant diamond make it shine and sparkle like no other.

So what exactly is it that makes diamonds, into sparkling diamonds? Brightness and contrast are the two most important attributes of a diamond. Light enters the diamond and depending on whether the diamond is cut correctly the light can either escape out the back, leave right back from the top, or it can be dispersed from many different angles.
When the diamond’s angles and proportions are cut correctly the light that enters the diamond will disperse at the exact places it’s supposed to and you will see beautiful sparkling diamonds. This sparkling is also referred to as the fire of the diamond.

Fire is also dependent on the diamond’s proportions and cuts. There are a lot of pieces to the puzzle of creating fire in a diamond. Among them include: facet length, pavilion angle, facet junctions, and the angle of the entering light.

Round brilliant diamonds have the best combination of all the necessities when it comes to sparkling diamonds. Because they have held this reputation for a long time they are the most sought after diamonds for sale.

When shopping for a diamond, even fake diamonds can seem to be sparkling. It all depends on what light they’re using or any other trickery that a person may use. Be sure that the sparkling diamonds you see are genuine and not just a trick that somebody’s pulled on you. Read as much information as you can before you go out and make that purchase, in the end you’ll be glad you took the time to do it.

All pearls are processed in some way. Akoya and
Freshwater pearls are bleached, and all pearls are
cleaned and polished before they are sold. There
are some treatments to take note of on cultured
pearls that will change the aesthetic qualities of
the pearl.

After harvesting cleaning and polishing a
low-quality cultured pearl if the pearl still does
not have a good luster or color, the farmer has
very few options. If the pearls is a good
candidate for treatment, this is the most common
and economically sensible thing for the farmer to
do. There are three main treatments are used on
low-quality pearls.

Dyeing- The use of silver nitrate to darken the
nacre of the pearl. Irradiation- The use of gamma
rays to darken the nucleus of the pearl in akoya
pearls and the nacre layers in freshwater pearls.
Luster treatments- A coating is placed on the
surface of the pearl to enhance the luster.

Silver nitrate has been used for decades to darken
the appearance of the peal. The chemical
penetrates the layer of nacre and has a chemical
reaction with light or hydrogen sulfides gas to
organic or inorganic dyes to produce another color
variation. This treatment is very popular in
treating fresh water pearls. Sometimes the farmer
will want to create other colors then black the
farmer in this case can use organic or inorganic
dyes to make the color variations. Akoya pearls
are also routinely “pinked” this is done when they
would like to make a more rose overtone.

Irradiation has a different effect on freshwater
to saltwater and cultured pearls. Gamma rays do
not affect the nacre layers of a saltwater
cultured pearl, but will darken the nucleus of the
pearl. Saltwater pearls that are irradiated will
be gray to blue. Freshwater irradiated pearls can
become very dark, some of these freshwater treated
pearls may also have an intense metallic sheen
over their surface.

Coating a pearls to enhance its luster is not
widely practiced and is frowned upon. The coating
is like putting clear nail polish. The coating may
eventually chip or peel, leaving a low-luster
pearl this is a treatment to watch for.

Luster treatments are very hard to find. The most
basic way to find the luster treatment is to
compare an untreated strand with the strand that
you think has been treated. You can put the strand
under 50x magnification. The untreated pearl will
have a scaly nacre surface and the coated pearl
will have a smooth, glass like surface.

All pearls are processed in some way. You as the
pearl consumers should be aware of all the
treatments before you are going to buy these
classic beauties to add to your jewelry
collection.

Glow necklaces are ornaments which glow in the dark and have a special attraction. The glow of a glow necklace lasts for few hours. Glow necklaces are made in gold and platinum sometimes, and are very famous all over the world. Purchasing gold ornaments involves a lot of investment. 24 carat gold is considered to be the best gold, but it is not useful for making ornaments as it is soft gold. The gold ornaments are very expensive depending on the gold used and the intrinsic work done. Glow necklaces are available in various colors and are available at economical rates.

Glow necklaces are an extended form of glow bracelets. They are just of a bigger size than the glow bracelets. The glow necklaces are made of flexible plastics. They need no wiring and they work via reactive chemicals. They are non-toxic and non-flammable.

Glow necklaces are available at cheap rates. Children in parties commonly use them for fun. As they are durable, they can be used for hours. This glow is due to a chemical process known as chemiluminescences, which emits light. During this process, electrons in the normal level produce energy in the form of light.

Glow necklaces are available in “premium” and “superior” quality. Premium quality glow necklaces glow for about 6 to 24 hours, while superior quality glow necklaces glow for 8 to 48 hours. They are available in 6mm and 5mm diameters. The 6mm glow necklaces are brighter than 5 mm glow necklaces by 25%.

They are available in nice packaging and pretty colors. Glow necklaces are available in pink, orange, red, green, yellow, blue and white colors. The pink, orange and red are made by using tinted colors, whereas the green, yellow, blue and white colors are made by using clear castings. They are also available in tri colors: green-red-blue, green-yellow-blue and red-white-blue.

The superior quality glow necklaces are available at $100 and the premium quality necklaces are available at $20 for 50 pieces. Being of a branded quality, they are worn in special events and occasions. The glow depends on the quality and the composition they have inside.

One of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry you can own is a pair of diamond stud earrings. Elegantly simple and stunningly beautiful, diamond stud earrings are a classic look that will never go out of style. And, with so many styles and cuts to choose from, diamond stud earrings are easy to customize. This article explains how to create the perfect pair of diamond stud earrings that will become a treasured heirloom for years to come.

Steps:

1 Find a local jeweler or a reputable website that sells made-to-order diamond stud earrings.

2 Choose the price range you are most comfortable with. Diamond studs can vary dramatically depending on size and quality. They can cost as little as $150 or as much as $15000 or more.

3 Choose the cut that best suits you. If you have a broader face you’ll probably look best with princess cut diamond studs. If your face is thinner round cut studs will be your best fit.

4 Choose the precious metal that best suits your skin tone for the backing. If you have a warm skin tone yellow gold will look best. If your skin tone is cool you will probably look better in white gold or platinum.

5 Make sure you choose a well balanced setting for your diamond stud earrings. Some settings, such as the crown style setting, are poorly balanced, pulling the diamond stud forward and creating a droopy look. The best settings - the three-prong martini style or four-prong basket style - pull the center of gravity back, making the diamond stud fit snuggly and beautifully against your ear. Remember that even the most beautiful diamond will look bad in a poor setting.

6 Make sure to choose quality diamond stud earrings. Look at the color, cut, and clarity of the diamond studs. Look to see that the diamond stud is clear, with no obvious inclusions. Make sure that the light is reflected evenly out of the diamond with no dark spots. Remember that bigger isn’t always better.

7 Order your diamond stud earrings and enjoy.

Tips:

• When you order your diamond stud earrings, take note of the size of the diamonds. Stones that are 1/8 to 1/4 carats are tiny. If you order stones that are 1/5 carat or more, the effect will be much more dramatic and pleasing.

• If you are unsure of your skin tone hold a piece of clean white paper against your hand, if you notice a yellowish hue then you have a warm skin tone, if you see a bluish hue then your skin tone is cool.

Warnings:

• While diamonds are one of the hardest materials on earth they can still be damaged. Avoid extremes of temperature, and always store separately.
